Author and Webmaster
My
name is M. Hassan. I'm a multimedia designer based in the Netherlands.
I grew up in a small town in Sierra
Leone called Makeni and
fled the country in 1999 due to war. That is how I landed in
the Netherlands. My parents are from Lebanese origin that migrated
some years ago to that part of Africa.
I loved to draw even at an early age and have always been creative; it is a gift from God, because their is no one in the history of my family that has had anything to do with graphics or web design.
Studies and Jobs
I studied both in Makeni, Sierra Leone and Groningen, The Netherlands. I graduated and received my diploma on July 7, 2004 as an ICT- SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR. This was a study on Computer science and had little to do with web design. In fact, only the very basics of web design were taught. During these classes I developed a real passion for it, so I started surfing the web and buying books to help me improve my techniques and knowledge on web design and web mastering. I later started doing research on WEB STANDARDS, COMPATIBILITY AND LIABILITY and how to combine XHTML, CSS and PHP semantically.
I have been a freelance webmaster for almost 3 years and have since then designed lots of templates, logos and a few complete websites for companies here in the Netherlands and abroad. I also work as an ICT- SPECIALIST and HELPDESK SUPPORT at the IB-Groep in the Netherlands on a full time basis. I have also worked in the past for the Winkler Prins as a HELPDESK ASSISTANT on site.
Hobbies
My favorite hobby is football (soccer). I played top level football in Africa for 2 years. 1995-96 and have been playing 2nd class (V.V.Hoogezand) football here in the Netherlands. I also like swimming, fishing, table tennis, basketball, listening to music, watching TV, going to the movies, taking photos of almost anything and I surely love web design.
